Determinants of Healthy Lifestyle

Health is a condition of total physical, mental and emotional well-being where infirmity and illness are absent. There has been a variety of definitions used over the years for the purpose of describing this concept. Some of these ideas have become widely accepted while others are still not so much accepted as one would think. It is wise to examine the definition of health and its relationship to other human needs.

“Expectancy of health” is the idea that good health is something we can get just by doing the right things and expecting good health conditions to come about. What this means is that we don’t have to work too hard to achieve it because nature will take care of it. This is similar to saying that we don’t have to make an effort in order to be healthy or we won’t have to eat properly because eating right and exercising regularly will result in good health. These health conditions may come about naturally such as through the accumulation of toxins or through environmental factors such as sunlight or pollution. They can also be brought about by diseases or even just by being a typical person who is not healthy in other aspects.

In order to have a healthy lifestyle, there are several things that you can do. These include having a balanced diet and exercising regularly. A good balance between the quantity and quality of food that you eat is essential as is exercising daily. It is important to eat healthy in order to maintain the physical condition of your body as well as maintain a healthy level of wellness.

There are different kinds of health issues as well. They include physiological, mental health issues as well as social or emotional health issues. When you talk about the physiological aspect, you include the whole body structure including the skeletal, muscular, neurological, vascular, nervous and endocrine systems. On the other hand, when it comes to the mental health issue, these include your thought processes, behavior, communication and interpersonal relationships. When it comes to the social aspect of your well being, these include your relationships with others as well as your work and relationships. All of these aspects together are known as your somatic health.

The other aspect includes your lifestyle. This includes your environment, your genetics, your stress level and your diet. While you can not change your genetic makeup, you can change your environment and genetics such as through exercise and diet, which greatly affect your health conditions. In addition, you can also manage your stress level, which can cause major changes to your health conditions.

These are some of the determinants of healthy lifestyle. It is essential to know what these are so that you can be aware as to what you can do in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Chronic diseases include heart diseases, cancer, HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases. When you develop chronic diseases, it means that your health status stays the same or gets worse over time and this is why prevention is better than cure. Your health condition now can either get better or stay the same, so it is up to you to take advantage of the preventive measures.
