Dangerous Ingredients in Cosmetics

Beauty is often defined as the aesthetic quality of certain physical characteristics that make these physical characteristics pleasant to see. Such attributes may include sunsets, landscapes, humans and creative works of art. Beauty, along with beauty, is perhaps the most significant part of aesthetics, among the major branches of applied philosophy. In a broad sense, aesthetics includes the study of how different cultures and individuals interpret beauty in the world around them. While beauty is subjective, many aspects can be quantified and compared to provide a framework for an aesthetically satisfying life.

There has been a great deal of research conducted on how beauty relates to health. Aesthetic assessment in human biology has also found connections between beauty and health. Many of these studies have concluded that there are strong connections between a person’s aesthetic qualities and their overall health. These studies have been conducted by various agencies such as the National Cancer Institute, the American Heart Association, the National Institute on Aging and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While these studies provide concrete facts on the aesthetic nature of the human body, the exact effects of beauty on the body cannot be accurately measured.

Many consumers feel that scientific studies on beauty are unbiased and objective. However, these studies can also be biased and partial because they may be influenced by certain interests. For example, some scientific studies may focus on determining which facial cleansers are more effective than others. Scientists involved in the investigation of beauty products may choose only products that contain plant-based ingredients.

Parabens are a common ingredient found in many skin care products. These chemicals, used in small quantities, have been found to mimic estrogen in the human body. While it is not proven that parabens are linked to breast cancer, other research has shown links between parabens and an increased risk of prostate cancer.

Phthalates and trihalomethanes (THMs) are the two other common ingredients found in skin care products. These chemicals have been linked to the development of endocrine system problems, including asthma and various types of cancer. The Environmental Protection Agency and other groups have placed restrictions on the use of many of the ingredients that are often found in cosmetics. However, manufacturers are free to use these ingredients if they offer a medical or scientific explanation as to why they are necessary.

The best way to find out if a beauty product contains any of these dangerous ingredients is to read the label and look for the words “phthalates”, “parabens” or “triclosan”. If the product contains one or more of these ingredients, it is likely that you are unknowingly playing with your health. Instead of using this cosmetic as a beauty product, you should look for one that contains ingredients that promote good health.
